Director Spike Lee shows support for gun violence prevention in a BIG way, by lighting up New York City’s Empire State Building. The Film Director, joined by elected officials and advocates, turned city’s enormous tower lights ORANGE for Gun Violence Awareness Day June 2nd. Lee has been acclaimed in the past for his activism for violence prevention. Movements promoting awareness such as Sandy Hook Promise & Everytown benefitted greatly from the event. The Empire State Building transformation kicks off the National Gun Violence Awareness movement which encourages people to #wearorange as a tribute to victims and survivors of gun violence.
