Germany Kent, actress, producer, author and social activist, will receive the Global Philanthropy Award at the first annual Empower Magazine Awards. Kent is receiving the award in recognition for her outstanding contributions to society.
Kent is a huge advocate for lending a helping hand. Over the past 20 years she has been involved in communities and alongside voluntary organizations supporting youth partnerships, providing resources and aiding in mentoring programs. Kent has been influential in empowering youth to develop their independence and self-worth.
In addition to fostering a national conversation about cyberbullying and helping young people with self-esteem and career development initiatives, Kent, has been a tireless supporter of promoting volunteerism and literacy programs. She is a longtime champion of encouraging participation and appreciation of the arts and culture.
Kent will be formally recognized for her philanthropic efforts at the Empower Magazine “Empower at a Glance and Wine Exhibit” on May 17th, 2017 at Coze Event Center in Atlanta, GA. The event is hosted by Christopher King, philanthropist and son of the Legendary Blues Icon B.B. King.
Also being honored will be Ceasar Mitchell, Atlanta Mayor elect and President to the Atlanta City Council, and Hank Denson, Celebrity Comedian and Actor.
