Chargers Sean McGrath helps kickoff 6th Annual Tackle Alzheimer’s for Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles (ALZGLA). Two teams of women – the FirebALZ and the ALZstarz, competed in a high-energy flag tackle ALZ football game to help raise awareness and funds for local Alzheimer’s disease programs and services. McGrath served as a consulting coach, and presided over the ceremonial coin toss. Mike Lavender and Ernie Thompson commemorated the ceremony. Will commentatetackleALZ team members include players with the Los Angeles Temptations of the Lingerie League, company presidents, PhD candidates, mother-daughter duos, and many others.
Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles is the only full-service, local, dementia-focused nonprofit organization. With 36 years of experience, five locations, and 57 staff members, ALZGLA provides programs and services – free of charge – to individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementia, as well as to their families, caregivers and the community. Low-cost training and education are also offered for professionals. 100% of all Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles fundraising stays local, focusing on care, support, advocacy, and research across Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. 20% net proceeds from tackleALZ to local research.
