This past weekend, American Cancer Society held their 1st Annual Birthday Ball in celebration of their 100th Birthday at The Beverly Wilshire. “Glee” star and “Dancing with the Stars” winner, Amber Riley headlined the event and rocked the house performing a set featuring Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain,” her personally written song “Colorblind” and ended with the crowd pleaser that got everyone out of their seats, Destiny Child’s “Survivor.” The American Cancer Society’s Birthday Ball raised over a million dollars to help finish the fight and find a cure.

The night also played host to a number of celebrities including: Amber Riley, The Cast of ABC Family (Italia Ricci, Scott Michael Foster, Haley Ramm) and Robbie Amell.

As the official sponsor of birthdays, the American Cancer Society knows how important each and every birthday can be. One hundred years ago, they began the fight of a lifetime – the fight against cancer. And for their 100th birthday, the Society kicked off a yearlong campaign to finish the fight. At the culmination of the milestone year, the Society hosted a BIG finale event – the first annual Birthday Ball. The gala brought together national leaders of business, the entertainment industry, science and medicine to honor the work that has been done in the fight so far and to rally support and funds to help the Society’s efforts in finishing the fight within the next century.

Social Media lights up on April Fools Day to shine awareness on the dark truth of cancer.
